Things You Should Know When Renting A Limousine

A Awesome Limousine wants you to know what to look for when you are renting a limousine FOR YOUR PERFECT EVENT.

1       Verifying The US DOT#.  Make sure your company has a US DOT# and that they have the number on the back of the limo.  If not they haven’t been approved to operate in the state of Missouri.  Another sticker by the state should be in the windshield or side window showing the current year.  This lets you know that the limousine is current up to date with the Department of Transportation.

Correct Insurance.  If they don’t have a US DOT sticker they could have regular insurance for a town car instead of a limousine or insurance for a RV instead of a party bus.  If you were injured in a limousine hired out as a passenger vehicle without commercial insurance, there may be no coverage.

3       Qualified Driver. If you hire a limo without US DOT certification you may have a driver that is not qualified and has not been checked for DWI or wreckless driving.  Commercial insurance companies run background checks on all drivers.  Almost ALL legal companies have uniformed drivers that have been trained to meet DOT Regulations.

4       Knowing What You’re Renting.  When renting a limo you might ask to see it before the important date so you won’t be disappointed when it arrives.  With the internet you can see what car is picking you up and check pictures, inside and out, to make sure it’s what you want.  Some limousine companies have older limousines with rust and dents and are an embarrassment when they pull up to your important event.

5       Check the BBB.  Always check the Better Business Bureau for an Accredited Limousine Company.  Some companies have an A Rating but that just because nobody has called to complain with a bad review.  Only Accredited Business have been checked out and approved by the Better Business Bureau and should have the BBB logo on their website.

6       Pricing.  Don’t let the price be your deciding factors.  Some limo services are higher than others.  Factors like newer vehicles, well trained drivers, and customer care make up for a few more dollars on that special night that you want PERFECT.  It doesn’t hurt to shop around for the best rate but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Booking Reservations. When paying for a limousine you need to book your reservation in advance.  Usually they require ½ down for a deposit.  Again the best place to check out a business is the Better Business Bureau.  If the company would go out of business before your big date you could lose hundreds of dollars from your deposit.

After 23 years of service I have seen a lot of limousine services come and go.  I hope this information makes it easier to secure your rental.  Whether it is from A Awesome Limousine or one of the other great limo services in St. Louis, MO
